Bitaroo gives you several ways to protect your account and sign in. You will find them under Account → Security on the web platform, and under Account → Security in the Bitaroo Express app.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication, shown as Enhanced Security in Bitaroo, adds a second step on top of your password when you sign in. We strongly recommend turning it on. Toggle it on under Account → Security.
Passkeys (web platform)
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face, or a security key instead of typing a 2FA code. On the web platform, go to Account → Security → Passkeys and select Add passkey, then follow the prompt on your device. You can add more than one, give each a nickname, and remove any you no longer use.
PIN and biometric unlock (Bitaroo Express app)
In the app you can enable a PIN or biometric unlock (fingerprint or Face ID) for quick, secure access. Go to Account → Security and turn on PIN Login and/or Biometric Login. Biometric unlock appears only if your device supports it.
Your password
You can change your password at any time under Account → Security. For your security, bitcoin sends are blocked for 24 hours after a password change.
Automatic logout (web platform)
On the web platform you can have Bitaroo log you out automatically after a period of inactivity: 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 hours. Set it under Account → Security → Auto logout.
