Under certain circumstances, we may ask you to do a short video verification. We acknowledge a request for a video can be off-putting, so we feel an explanation is in order.
A video done using your mobile phone or computer is actually safer and better than selfie photos for two reasons:
1. Videos are much harder to digitally forge than photos. A video gives us a much higher level of confidence that you really are who you say you are.
2. In the extremely unlikely event that our user database is leaked, stolen selfie photos can be used by hackers to sign up to other exchanges or services, pretending to be you. Videos in which users state their name and the specific purpose of the video are almost useless to hackers.
For extra security, videos are removed from the online secure portal within 2 months and kept in encrypted offline storage.
Thank you for your understanding in our efforts to create a safe and prosperous bitcoin trading environment.
