You can move bitcoin between your Bitaroo Account and your Bitaroo Wallet in either direction, from either the app or the web.
Account to Wallet. Go to Withdraw and choose your Wallet as the destination. Bitaroo fills in your Wallet address for you, so there is nothing to copy or paste. Confirm, and the bitcoin moves on-chain from your Account to your Wallet.
Wallet to Account. From your Wallet, choose Move to Account (you will also find this offered on the Deposit screen and when selling). The app guides a Wallet send to your own Account deposit address. Once it confirms, the bitcoin is in your Account and ready to sell or hold there.
Verification is automatic
Australian rules require Bitaroo to verify that bitcoin leaving the exchange goes to a wallet the customer controls, and that bitcoin arriving comes from one. Your Bitaroo Wallet is verified automatically when it is created, so a normal move between your Account and your Wallet needs no signatures, no test payments and no forms. Your usual two-factor authentication is enough. On a supported device, you may be offered Face ID or your fingerprint in place of typing your two-factor code.
There is one exception. If you restored your Wallet from a recovery phrase, we also send a one-time email code for the first 48 hours, as an extra check that the restore was really you. After that, moves flow normally.
Worth knowing
- These moves are real Bitcoin transactions, so a network fee applies and confirmation takes minutes, not seconds.
- Moving from your Account to your Wallet counts toward your withdrawal limits, the same as any other withdrawal, because that is exactly what it is: bitcoin leaving Bitaroo's custody for an address you control. If you have already withdrawn up to your daily limit, a move to your Wallet will have to wait until the limit resets.
- New accounts build up to their full withdrawal limit over the first days of use rather than starting at it, so if you have just joined, your first move to your Wallet may be smaller than you expect, or may need to wait. This is not a fault and nothing is stuck: your bitcoin stays in your Account until you move it.
- Your Wallet transactions are tagged automatically in the app (for example "To Bitaroo Account") so your history stays readable.
