Selling happens in your Account, because that is the side of Bitaroo that holds AUD and matches orders. Your Wallet is self-custody: Bitaroo cannot touch bitcoin in it, and that includes selling it on your behalf. This separation is deliberate. It is what makes the Wallet genuinely yours.
So selling bitcoin that is in your Wallet is two steps:
- Move it to your Account. From your Wallet choose Move to Account, or start from the Sell screen, which will offer the move when your Account balance is short. The move is a normal Bitcoin transaction from your Wallet to your own Account deposit address, guided by the app.
- Sell from your Account as usual once the move confirms.
Because your Wallet is verified automatically, the move needs no extra checks. It is a real on-chain transaction, so allow a network fee and a few minutes for confirmation before the balance is ready to sell.
Planning ahead helps: if you expect to sell soon, moving the bitcoin to your Account in advance means the funds are confirmed and ready when you want to trade.
